Sound Legit?
« on: October 07, 2011, 02:59:18 PM »
i threw most of my rig on ebay and craigs.
got this email from an ebay member with 44 transactions and 100% feedback
i'm kind of inclined to go with it and send a money request through paypal and once it hits, kill the bid. its pretty close to what i was looking for $ wise and he is correct on the transaction details of the bid that closed out
But as always i like feedback from the community.
thanks

Hello there, I just missed a similar item on eBay for hitting the wrong key!!  It went for $255.oo I would like to get this item soon,. Would you take u$255.oo + shipping from me and end the auction? (Please ignore if this is a no no question to ask, I'm not quite sure about the eBay policies on this matter). Thanks!

Jeff; I ran a search and didn't find anything similar.  However, the similar item and the not sure about the eBay policies phrases cause some concern.  You may want to verify his shipping address with a google search of his name, and perhaps a phone conversation to match his phone number with his address.

I'd let the auction run its course.  If this guy wants it so bad, he'll bid.  If you think it's likely it would sell in the $250 neighborhood, you've got little to lose. Just my $0.02.

I'm with Bill. This doesn't feel right to me, so if he wants it, he'll play the game like everyone else.

i appreciate the concerns. dave i did run a search of completed listings and the 255 sale is there.
seems that on some of the items i have for sale on ebay, i have gotten offers to complete the sale outside of ebay and or complaints about shipping costs etc. it shouldnt be this difficult
