Hey Guys!

I was hoping you some of you guys would tell me what you think of the music I'm currently working on.

I'm currently playing in 3 bands here in portland oregon, all in my eyes are good but I want to know what my fellow Alembicans think,

now I'm only 23, still have some learning to do but I know ive got some great chops so please check it out and let me know. Thanks, Nick

Bass sounds good...musically it's not a style I'm into -- not enough psychosis, mania, and desperation...

Some good variety among the bands, my fav would be the Novelty Theory stuff for it's diversity. Levels from song to song are uneven. Keep up the good work on the bottom end!

Thanks Guys! glad you like the Novelty Theory stuff bababass, I've been enjoying the differant ends of the rock music spectrum,

Novetly theory has been nothing but fun crazy jams

Zen Thesis is very straight forward rock with High energy

And Stump Train is all that is The blues rock with a touch of modern guitar work thrown in

I just listened to Let It Slip Away. Great tone on the bass and nice moving lines. Nice tone on the rhythm guitar parts. Cool snare sound. Fun tune.

Ordinary Trash. Again, great tone on the bass; and I like that bass fill in the second verse! Nice drums.

Bad Disease. The break was pretty cool, an interesting and effective rhythm change that was fun.

All three bands do nice tunes; and my guess is that audiences would like all three. And the bass sounds great. Enjoy!

I Like the bass tone - what gear do you mostly use? I see a number of amps and cabs. What guitar settings do you use on the Alembic? Nice riffs as well. Good variety of styles. Well done. Glynn

The main rig I use now is a Mark Bass Classic 300 all tube head with a Ampeg 6/10. for Zen Thesis I Some times use a Fender Studio Bass 200 watt tube head with a Fender 2/15 cab, for Stump train A Carvin stack was used with a 4/10 and 1/15, Now I use a Mesa Boogie 400+ with a fb-2 preamp for both channels into a Edean 4/10 and a Mesa 1/15. for the most part I use my 97 Epic with the bass and treble kicked up to about 2 o clock with both pickups running at equale mix. and I allways have my pedal board no matter what I use for an amp,I start off with a EBS micro bass sterio preamp and use mostly a bright harmonic type tone on channel 1 but I use channel 2 for the heavy rock stuff with the edge and boost up for some slight overdrive, from there I run a Mark Bass chorus/ flanger, An ebs octa bass, a bootzy collins sig. wah, and modded vox wah (used mainly like a tone pedal) all that is run about 75/85% effects mix thru the patch on the pre amp. after that I use an OD-60 overdrive for a Lemmie type tone when needed and last I have an ebs valve drive for a nice modern/ classic overdrive with nice warmth

I also now use a 73 Ampeg b-15 portaflex when recording clean tone with an a/b/y switch to run both norm and bright channels, once I get the studio cleaned up a bit i'll snap some photos.
