Edwin , I was searching for new 12's and 15's that matched the performance of the old Gauss double spider design as well a while ago but now am using new old stock drivers that I found. I am always looking at new possibilities . I will let you know when I find out definite model numbers that seem interesting . Some of the new EV and new JBL pro line drivers might work BUT also carry a hefty price tag as well . Again the quote Nothing is impossible. it just costs more ! ____ LOL !

Wolf , My buddy has just built a very stout EVM-12L using a 15 EV magnet assembly on a 12 frame.

We tried with guitar...at bedroom to coffeehouse levels it was a bit stiff and compressed the guitar too much.
We then tried it with Bass and it really performs.
Loaded into a well vented 13 ply little cab it shakes thing up surprisingly well. I think he's charging 175 for one to be built.
I've compared his work to the guys at Great Plains and I think his shows more love for the craft.
His 2225 JBL builds are reeeeel stout also...and as you say...the cost can go up and up....and shipping these monsters ain't cheap either. It's always nice to find the heavy gear locally

I'd love to load it up with something that might sound good. I like infinite baffle cabinets, but haven't found the right drivers for this cab yet.

Would a set of the Eminence 3012LF\s fit the bill? The drivers spec\d for the fEARful cabinets. If you can even get them

I have a fEARful (and love it. I actually have 2) and while the low end might be good, I'd like to get a more full range option. There is something about the JBL mids and highs I really like, as well. So, a driver with the low end of a 3012LF and the high end of a K120 would be about perfect! Oh yeah, neodymium would be nice, too. I guess it's time to peruse the US Speaker website.

I\d imagine you\re getting full range on your 15/6/1 cabinet, (do you have an Eighteen Sound 6 driver), at least. I get it with the Bag End though.
I am actually having a Thunderchild 2 X 12 plus horn almost near completion to go with the 15/6/1 cab and my Series Custom ~ one cab to each pickup if I want to,the 15/6 with my Bag End 15 or the 1212 TC solo by itself.
I think Eminence may be having trouble now (not sure) with the Neo\s though, so I\m glad I purchased the 12\s this past spring.
The 15/6 has the 3015LF\s and the TC will have the 3012LF\s.

Yeah, the 15/6/1 is amazing. I've used it for some pretty large outdoor shows this summer and it filled the stage and got out into the audience pretty far. I've also tried my rig with two 15/6/1s, one for each pickup for my Starfire/SII. Sounded pretty amazing. I had them spread out over the stage. I'm not sure the rest of the band was all that into it.

The Bag End cab is not something I'm in a hurry about. It's been sitting in my basement for the last 15 years, so if the right drivers show up, great, if not, oh well. I think the last time I took it out to a gig was ca. 1992. It really is insanely big and heavy.
