hey guys jimy here in brooklyn.
i didnt lose power, didnt flood, where i live was beyond the zone A evacuation zone( although greenpoint which is just a couple of blocks away had to if you were by the water).... lower manhattan south of 25th street is messed up. no power.
subways are shut down, bridges are open, tunnels going to NJ are not. New Jersey got hit BIG.
i consider myself VERY VERY lucky, and my hearts go out to those along the jersey shore and long island, their communities are devastated right now.

Yeah, hopefully everyone's okay...seems so weird to think of NYC being hit with NATURAL disaster; seems beyond that somehow, like it's too big...welcome to global warming storm fun! oh well, just had a nice earthquake near me so the fun is everywhere...Tony

Just got power back and all is safe and sound. I was extremely lucky and very grateful that no water invaded my sanctum. Please keep all those throughout the storms path that are suffering. Dug from King's X posted on FB that Jerry lost everything in the storm. It does remind us of the power of nature and the attachment to material possessions. Also, we are not in control and we are not the masters of the universe. But with a lot of time in the dark I imagine some folk tapped into that cosmic force. Cheers y'all.

Just heard from my brother last night (from NZ) that my neice is fine - spent 3 days eating candy and watching movies stuck in her apartment (it's a hard life.). Apparently she's only a few blocks up from where the crane snapped in half.

To say my area has hard hit is an understatement! I had one of my trucks get crushed by a 60' tree, but nobody got hurt. I am running on back up generator, and will probably not get power back for a week.
There are areas along the coast that have entire blocks of homes that are completely gone. I am just glad that we all made it through the storm unhurt.

Regards,
Pete

Alright, here's one of our marshes before and after the third high tide of the storm~ the first two covered the road, making no distinction between it and Long Island Sound:

A couple of houses that caught fire during the second tidal surge that the FD were unable to get to, due to the high water and propane tanks floating in the vicinity:

Our mini golf course at the mouth of the CT. river. The two buildings to each side of it were equally trashed:

Objection, your honor! It is more than likely that both subject of testimony and the witness were intoxicated at the time in question. I have with me 10,000 affidavits that will attest to that likelihood.

If Jerry sang Storm and Rain in 1992, that proves those aren't the correct words! lol.

We got hit pretty hard here in Bucks County, PA.  Not from flooding, but LOTS of wind damage.  Trees, poles and power lines down all over, blown transformers lying in the streets...a tree came down on the lines that run from the pole to my house, as well as a back porch.  Not much to complain about compared to some people, I know...I actually count myself lucky it was not worse.

Power was just today returned to my neighborhood, but I won't have power at my house until an electrician reconnects my service which won't be until tuesday or Wednesday.
