Hi, any feedback on mesa cabs? Have disel road ready 15. Am considering a new 15 & 210 (crossover possibility with f1x). Also 212 cab or 410 or...?

Have a Diesel Roadready 2x10. Sounds nice, weighs a ton.

Hi there, I have a Powerhouse set of 1x15, 2x10 and 4x10 and have had the first two cabs since about 2003 and the 4x10 since 2008 and that one has the speakons plus jacks. I took a good look round before I settled on these and have nothing but praise for their sound clarity, headroom, punch and they are a good combination with an alembic.

Most of the time i have them plugged into a Mesa boogie walkabout head which makes a fantastic combination.

Are you gonna be using the F1-x to do some bi-amping?

I have the old Road Ready cabs . I have two 2x10 and one 4x10. All EV 's ! I love them. Great definition and punch.

Too heavy - they never put their weights on their specs which says a lot. Much lighter stuff around now that is good - I have the 900w GenzBenz Streamliner - fantastic and 2 Bergantino HD112 cabs at 20kg each, also fantastic. Look after your back - it may not last forever (I am 63) Glynn Murray

Diesel cabs? Here you go:

:-) I sold the big cab but did a couple of shows with this whole rig, insanity rules :-) 2x10 and 1x15 is my favourite combi, it sounds just as awesome as the 4x10 and 1x15 combi of the PH1000. There were two (four, counting the RR option) versions of the Diesel series 2x10, one with Eden speakers (300 watt) and one with the EV speakers (400 watt) I had one of both but recently swapped out all speakers with 8 ohm EVM (apparently 16 ohm versions/recone kits aren't available anymore) The version with Eden speakers is about 70 lbs, the version with EV speakers about 86 lbs (standard non RoadReady versions) Imho EV is the way to go, well worth the extra weight and a perfect match with Alembic :-) Current situation:

I have two Diesel 2x15's which are both from the early/mid 90's. They have EV speakers. I'm driving them with that 400+. It sounds fantastic and gets so loud it's just beyond stupid. I've used a number of the lightweight cabs/amps and so far nothing I've tried has stacked up to the Mesa rig. Tonally, volume, or otherwise. It can be clean, it can be dirty, it can be a distorted hot mess if you so desire.

I have also driven these cabs with my Walkabout head. It can drive them without issue. Also stupid-loud and sounds fantastic.

Extra fun bone-us round:

I purchased that 400+ from Mike Starr's family when they went through his storage locker and sold a bunch of his music gear. Mike Starr got the 400+ from Michael Anthony when they were on tour together in the early 90's.`popjpeg

Not to hijack this thread, but I've been playing through a Phil Jones 6B/9B using two Yamaha power amps and an F1-X and always been impressed with the clarity as well as the db I can put out. The 9B was recently stolen(lost according to the club owner) and I'm looking to replace it. I'm wondering, given the air that the 6B/9B has the capacity to push versus a 2x10 and a 1x15, what does one get with the setup you guys are using versus 15 5-inch speakers.

The air-movement thing is apples & oranges; it's not cumulative. 15 5 speakers push 15 5 columns of air; that's not the same thing as 5 15 columns - or even 1 15 column. No amount of small speakers can sound like a large one.

I love them - but they do tend to be heavy. Currently I play a Powerhouse 212 on top of a Powerhouse 115. Weight's actually not that bad- the 115 isn't a big deal and the 212 is a couple years old, loaded with Mesa neo's. I love the removable casters, but make sure you get them with the cab - they cost a fortune a la carte.

I've been playing my Mesa Titan through powehouse 210 and 212 cabs for a while now and it's easily the best sounding rig I've ever had. Moves a LOT of air. They're not light but I can roll the whole rig in on the 212's wheels so long as there aren't any steps.
Another consideration - Mesa's customer support is second only to Alembic in my opinion. had a problem with the Titan overheating and even though I wasn't the original owner, they flew it to Petaluma from Glasgow, did the fix and shipped it back, all under warranty.
Looks great too....
