For those of you who haven't seen this yet, I wanted to share it here since, knowing something about music, we can all kinda relate to what happened. And we've talked about this kind of thing before here.
Here's the setup. Kristin Chenoweth was performing at the Hollywood Bowl with the LA Philharmonic. Apparently, there is a point in her set where she will ask an audience member to join her on stage to sing a song with her ...
Toward the end of the second half of the performance, Kristin wanders on to the pasarel. She held a mic up to a lady in front of me and asked if she knew the song For Good. Nope. I took the chance, as I was directly behind Kristin, to stand up and wave and say, I know the song! ... After this, she moved down the line and asked a guy if he knew the song and bantered with him for a few seconds. Afterwards, she said something about going back to pick me because I was a girl. Then, she invited me up on stage ... I sat there for a moment, stunned. Then the backup singer motioned for me to get up.
What happened next is pretty cool. It's kinda like that thing where you think it would be pretty cool to get asked to sit in with one of your favorite bands.
There are two videos, both audience cell phone vids; neither is great quality, but together they definitely tell the story. The second video misses the beginning, but is better quality; so watch both. The second video also gives a better idea of how the audience was reacting to what was happening.
Video one. Video two. After you watch the videos, you can
go here to read what she wrote about the experience.
I thought it was pretty cool; and I think at least some of you will as well.
