Bob Marley & Stanley Clarke on the same bill
« on: November 11, 2013, 03:30:32 AM »
Now that would have been some gig to have two of my musical hero's on the same gig.  The photo looks like the Kaya album which was released in 1978 so this was probably 1978 or 79.
Anyone here go to the gig?

Well it had to be one of two things:  Either SC played a LOT slower on this gig, or Bob REALLY 'lively'd himself up'!

Any pics of Stanley in dreads with a big knit cap? ? ? ?

Well Stanley has picked up some reggae influences in a few of his tracks over the years and maybe it came from that era.

Stories to tell is one of my favourite Stanley tunes EVER!. Although it?s Reggae-ish feel always sounded me more of a Stewart Copeland thing (he plays on that track)...

Agreed definitely Stu Copeland's thing, i also love Allan Holdsworth's guitar solo on that track. Awesome.
