Plug for REDDI
« on: January 23, 2014, 07:38:56 AM »
I bought one of these for recording a few weeks back and used it on 2 tunes. I highly recommend it. It is a great di/pre for recording. I have not used it live yet but it does get rave reviews. The first choice was an Avalon (black ltd ed.) but I decided to risk the unknown. It worked out for me.

When I saw the heading I thought it was going to be a question about the type of connector to use.

Sonically, any idea how this compares to an F-1X?

Thanks,

And the win goes to Graeme for the obscure Dead reference!

Well, it is a Prankster reference, but anyone of a certain age would recognize that it goes far beyond that and actually has its own website!

Hi Danno, how are you liking that Reddi DI now that you've had it a while? Any live gigs yet to try it out on? I've been interested in finding out your overall impression of it, since they claim that it was designed to sound like an Ampeg B15.....

I've used it on recordings and it just gives the bass some nice real estate in the mix. It just sits nicely without having to mess with it. I've been using my Xotic 5 24 fret bass with a brass nut. I haven't used it live yet but I may do so for some sound gigs I have in the Spring. I have a few DI's and used various amps and preamps. This was a simple way to go and I picked it over the Avalon based on reviews. Its not cheap but if it works, it works.
