Here he is doing Warren's rig rundown.  Warren plays all the time; if he's not out with the Allman Brothers, Phil Lesh, Gov't Mule, or a solo gig, he's sitting in with somebody somewhere.  So Brian was working all the time as well.  And Warren has great tone; and Brian would have been part of that.  As you can tell from the video, Brian knew his stuff.

it's really sad to see him go. just like larry cragg w/ neil young, the guy was practically a member of the band.

Very nice guy.  I met him a few years ago after a small (about 100 in the audience) Phil & Friends KFOG show.
