Thanks, unfortunatly they don't ship the little mark II to Canada...I have my eye on a tweed gig bag though.

If you're interested in the Mark Bass line you could try Italmelodie in Montreal (http://www.italmelodie.com/Italsite/indexflash.html) . I've tried different pieces there and I'm sure that they can ship anywhere in Canada.

I'm not sure of your location in/around Toronto, but the Musician's Friend prices are hard to beat when they have sales.... if it were me I might be tempted to ship to a friend in the Buffalo area and then make a short drive (depending on the linked Italemelodie prices).

In regards to the Glockenklang, I believe that the preamp was a Bugatti.

I got a bergantino single 12 used, from BassNW in Seattle, a month ago. Bought the Second one a few days later. I love the sound. And they are the lightest weight cabs I could find. I use em with a Genz Benz Shuttle amp, (similar to a Mark Bass), and a Epic fretless, or Warwick fretted.

I use a very bright sound. And play a hard slap bass. And these guys take it well.

In the store I tried them side by side with a Bag End, Ampeg, Eden, and about every other small rig I could get my hands on. The staff at BassNW love a good science project.

The reviews complained about not enought high end. But, I don't think so. I have no need for the model with a horn. They're clean, bright, loud, and very portable. I have done 10 show with them so far. For small to moderate size clubs there my speeker of choice.

I can vouch for the Aguilar's. I have two GS 112's and they are so big and fat sounding. They won the editors top tone award in the 2002 Bass player magazine. Totally smooth and deep. Check out the Ag's for sure. Welcome Gary.

When I bought my Europa 6 string from G-Guitars, the salesman set me up playing through an EBS 350 head and a 3x12 Berg cabinet. It sounded so good I bought the bass! I now play through an AccuGroove El Whappo 4 way cab and can honestly say it sounds better than the 3x12 Berg cab. Very Hi-Fi studio sound. It can reproduce subtle tone changes with frightening accuracy.

Rogueman, I also have 2 Aguilar GS112s and I don't like them and am looking to replace asap. They are indeed fat sounding but I have to say that's not really what I'm after; I'm more an aggressive-sounding Entwistle/Squire guy.

I hate the tweeters (still, I don't like tweeters much at the best of times), but without the tweeters the treble response is poor. I recently a/b-d them with my old Trace 1153 1x15 (which a friend now owns) and the Trace blew them out of the water, which was irritating as I sold the Trace for reasons of weight and replaced it with the Ags.

The tweeterless Trace had far more high end than the Agi had with the tweeter turned off, was far more articulate and far more detailed, and was far more aggressive sounding. It was louder and marginally deeper-sounding too, although I have to say with the same eq it wasn't quite a fat.

If anyone knows a lightweight cab that has a similar voicing to the 1153 I'd love to know. It seems like most of the lightweight cabs I try have tweeters (which as I say I don't like) and yet when you turn the tweeters off they have no high end. And most of them are too smooth for me; I want some growl and snarl.

I ended up getting the Berg 1x12 and it is unreal! The tweeter control is great, my brother even turned it all the way off and was getting some smooth jazz tones with a les paul special with P-90's. I'm playing it through a Little Mark II head which is insanly versatile. Between the versatility of the LMII and the berg cab it's a sweet rig. Anywho...If you havn't played through a berg cab I would highly recomend it! I found the tweeter to be quite manageable and as I said earlier, versatile.

Not to mention my Mom can lift my whole rig. The cab is incredibly lightweight and after playing all sorts of cabs (bag end, EA, Epifani, Aguilar, Ampeg, etc.) I found the bergs to be the sweetest...The 4x10 ruled! But I like my 1x12...and she growls!

Shaun - if you are looking for an aggressive cabinet, you might want to check out Schroeder. They make no pretense at being hifi - but they do have terrific cut through. I'm not crazy about their single driver models - but the 1212L or 1210L are pretty compact, handle massive power and are very efficient.

Congrats on the new rig.
I'm also using the LMKII..great little amp. I use it with either a Schroeder 1210 or a 21012.
One thing I really like about that amp is the VLE & VPF controls. (although I wish they were foot switchable) I usually set the tweeter up about 3/4 and then fine tune with the VLE, all others controls are set flat, any adjustments I make from the instrument (an Excel).
Although never having tried the Bergs the LMKII sounded hi-fi to my ears thru Bag End cabinets.
