Hi,

Anyone use bergantino cabs? I'm looking at the AE 1x12, probobly playing it through a markbass little mark II. Anyone have this rig? the head runs 300 watts at 8 ohms (AE1x12 is 8 ohms).

It seemed pretty efficient, as it was pretty loud at half volume. I'll be using it for playing in small to medium sized bar gigs and jams with drummer, guitar and keys.

Any opinions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Nick

I used to use an HT322. It's the 2x10, 1x12, tweet cab. It sounded good. However I switched to Glockenklang and found it much more refined, clear, and smooth. Just depends on what you're looking for. I really recommend anything Glock makes. They sound like whatever you put through them. They also have a nice 1x12 if that's what you're lookin for. Probably similarly priced.

The two cabs I'll never part with:  Bag End 1x15 and Bergantino HT112.

Can comment much on the MarkBass gear.  The one I tried in GC couldn't handle the output of my Series I.  Tone was good, but couldn't get the gain above 1 without clipping.

I found that the output seemed a little low when playing my Orion 5 through the Little Mark II. It just couldn't get the same volume as a sadowsky I tried through it. What is that all about?

There is a gain pot on the inside of your Orion that is used to balance it's output to other basses you might have. Here is the link to a picture in the FAQ.

I,ve played several years on Glockenklang amplification. Very good, but heavy. At the moment I'm playing on the new rig from Bergantino.
It's the IP112ER in combination with the HT112ER.
I think the first set on the continent of Europe. For small gigs I only use the IP112ER. For the bigger gigs I use them both. You hear exactly what you are playing even on high volumes. The weight is 22 kg for the IP112ER, and only 17 kg for the extra cab. The output of the amp in the IP112ER is 500watt at 8 ohm, and 1000watt at 4 ohm (with both cabinets)

I've never played the Berg cabs, but I can echo Wayne's sentiments about the Bag End S-15.  For a 15 it's got an incredibly small footprint and only weighs about 45lbs.

that is a very sweet rig, I bet it sounds sick! I would love to get an IP 1x12 but at the moment it's a bit out of my price range.

So you use the IP cab to power the F-1X?

How do you like the HT 1x12?

I have yet to play a Berg cab that I didn't think was fantastic.  I'd really like to pick up a HT322 at some point - those cabs are nothing short of amazing.

I use a walter woods head (amber light) with a Berg HT115. Aparently the head is not powerful enough to bring out all the quality of the berg, but I am poor, and am enjoying what I have.
Sorry no pics.

I've heard mixed reviews on the HT322-apparently they need a lot of power to reach their potential.

I've played my bass through an HT112/LMII and an IP212/Glockenklang setup. Both sounded amazing.

oooh, which Glockenlang?

the AE1x12's impedence is 8 ohms so it will run at 300 watts through the LMII. It was definitly powerful and louder than I had expected and thats with the gain pot on my orion set relatively low.

I am pretty sold on the AE 1x12 and LMII combination, but I wanted to try some aguilar stuff before buying.

Has anyone bought off musiciansfriend.com? They have a great deal on the LMII right now. Are they legitimate? anyone had any problems with them?

You might want to take a look at Phil Jones cabs too. www.philjonesbass.com

Musician's Friend is the mail-order arm of Guitar Center.  I have used them for years for strings, as 1)their prices are OK and 2) very few stores stock the strings I like.  I also bought my son a Fender Blues Junior from them - when I clicked to buy, it gave me the option of going with a Blemished unit for ~$100 less.  As the kid is the sort who buys all his clothes at resale shops, I figured why not? and went for it.  It was pristine - not a mark or flaw on it.  I might be hesitant about buying an intrument from them, but no more than any source where I can't play it first. For things like strings, electronics, etc., where you're less likely to experience personality, if you know what you want, they are certainly a viable option.
