I thought I’d bring back this old thread with a current report on the Telembic.  It’s funny how things work out.  I started this thread six years ago.   As it turned out, the guitar has spent most of its time in the case.  I liked it too much to sell, but it was down the depth chart from other guitars that got played.

Well anyway I pulled it out today, slapped on some new strings, and played it all afternoon at rehearsal.  (We are playing outside in my yard, appropriately distanced, and we are all “old” and staying to ourselves these days in covid world).  We’re getting ready for a live stream show next month.  (I’ll post the details when I have them).

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed playing it today.   It really plays nice and the Alembic guts and Babicz bridge really add to the sound of the guitar.  And it’s a Telecaster with a belly cut!   I suspect I’ll be playing this one a lot more now.

Bill, tgo

I remember it now, but I wasn't paying much attention at the time. Very much in my head right now!

Thanks for revisiting the thread, Bill.  ;)

Like I mentioned over on Greg's thread, I had the opportunity to play this one a few days ago.  Be advised that it is one fine git-fiddle!  Though I'm not sure which impressed me more, the Telembic or the Blackstar Fly 3 amp Bill also brought along: 3w, 1X3", battery-powered - and it sounded good!  (Needless to say, both sounded much better when Bill was playing them than when I was.......)

As I told Bill; I have always been of the firm opinion that black Teles should have white pearloid pickguards, sunburst Teles should have tortoise 'guards, and all other Teles need black ones - but this guitar makes a dern strong argument in favor of flamed maple ones; just gorgeous!

I love that!   ;D

I am wasting an incredible amount of time thinking about what this little experiment of mine will look like, now that I have the electronica-Alembica part pinned down.  I love the contoured back Tele (like Bill's here) too. My pieces-parts Telecaster has this, but it was routed for two HB's. Contrary to Coz' postulate, my butterscotch Tele has a tortoise 'guard, and the 'burst Tele has a yellowish pearloid one. ::)
