Joe Cocker has passed away. Seeing the list of folks that went this year starts to make one feel old.

Indeed! It always looked to me like Joe was playing air bass while performing - particularly earlier on.....

And another of the musicians I grew up with has passed. I suspect it's only going to keep happening more and more often. I've posted this here before, but I thought it appropriate to post it again.

One of my all time favourite vocalists, he was a unique talent. I'll be spinning Mad dogs tonight.

Nice video of
Delta Lady
from the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour.
Cocker's appearance at Woodstock, and in the movie, helped make the festival a special event in music history; and the Mad Dogs album further impacted the music and the culture. Both were inspirational for me.

I've always liked Delta Lady. I had forgotten about this version of it and it was nice hearing it again.

Same here, Keith. Love that version and I haven't heard it in a very long time.
Watching that has me exhausted. How spent must Cocker have been after a few sets?! Nobody worked harder for the music than he did.

When I was young, my step father took me to the orpheum theater in Ann Arbor MI. to see the movie Mad Dogs. It left a lasting impression to this day. It was also my introduction to Leon Russell. I just spun the vinyl two weeks ago....bummer.
