Sorry for what? As someone who has spent the last 35 years of his professional life working with people who are different (and I don't mean those of us who are members of the non-dominant microculture of Alembic players) I found the piece both moving and right on target. We all have a myriad of characteristics that make us who we are, and kids with Down syndrome just happen to have an extra 21st chromosome. Unfortunately, far too many people let that one characteristic define how they view individuals with Down syndrome forgetting about all the other aspects of a person that make them who they are.
Thanks for posting.
