 It seems that since  about close to 12 noon west coast USA time  5/28/15 I have not been getting ANY  Alembic Club email at all .  I can go to the site and see my profile and post as I am do currently and the post will appear but does not get sent out via email . Has anyone else noticed this in their own circumstances ?       TESTING 1234 !  
 
All my email accounts are getting email from others sites and can send as well .

My posts have never been sent out via email.  Do you mean you get an email telling you that something new was posted on the site?

I have been finding it almost impossible to post; I keep getting a file locking error message.  We'll see if this is one the 10% or so that get through.....

Yes Bill, I have been getting mine sent to my email address as well .
 
Suddenly that is not happening anymore ! I have been getting everything posted here . NOT anymore, I did not change my settings.

I've been getting the file lock error message for years.  It has gotten to the point where I routinely open a new window and double check if my message posted.  At least half the time it actually posts in spite of the file lock error message.  I assume this characteristic of the site is responsible for the common double posts we all see.

It happens to me virtually every time I make a post on the  site. Sometimes my posts submit ok then later on in the day they have disappeared.

I heard from moderator Dave Houck the other day, (after he wrestled my profile from the talons of the dreaded Profile Gremlin again) that the staff is working on a more permanent solution.  
 
May be just a coincidence, but it seems the aforementioned imp strikes between the posts while the file locked/please resubmit message comes up. That's when he gets me anyway... YMMV. =)

I didn't even realize that there was an option for email notification until I saw this thread earlier.
I changed my preferences to receive email when something is posted in the Swap and Shop section and so far it has worked for me today.
 
As far as the file locking error, I do the same as Bill... open a second window to see if the message posts before trying a second time. So far that has worked well in preventing double posts.

I get the file locking error every single time I try to post, & most of the times it takes several tries to get the post to work. I got the file locking error 3 times just trying to open this thread from the link in my email.

Frustrating! Emails should be unleashed shortly. Apparently a disk filled up at the ISP and they are swapping it out.  
 
I've got a check list for migrating to another platform, and I'm hoping to be done by summer.  
 
Of course, the new platform will be different, and take some adjusting to, but in the end it will be nicer to not have the FLE, the doubles, and the gremlins.

Got bit by the profile gremlin the other day. At least I think that's what it was because I was blocked from being able to post a response to a topic on the forum.
 
I sidestepped that little SNAFU by re-establishing my profile. It was easy, all of my info had been saved in the pull-down choices so I just re-entered it and presto, I'm back.
 
Haven't been able to successfully navigate past that File Locking Error thing tho...
