Paul Kantner, founding member of the Jefferson Airplane died on 1/28 at the age of 74, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

Let's hope the remainder of the year is kinder to those who got many of us interested in the music we play.

I will whole-heartedly second that sentiment. Obviously the inevitable is just that, but it's not easy watching our heroes going away one by one.

This news about the original singer for the Jefferson Airplane broke on Saturday... pretty freaky coincidence. Signe is only on their first LP.

Signe Toly Anderson?s daughter broke the news Saturday that her mother passed away the same day as Paul Kantner, January 28 (the family kept it private till today). Heartbreaking.
