Strings for Deep bass, articulate mids, sweet top

I have 98 Rogue 5 string in 35 scale. I'm looking for strings which fit this description. I want a deep thunderous bass with articulate mids and a sweet top. I loved a pair of Carvin 5011, but they died to soon, so longevity is important. Any suggestions? DR Fat beams? Zon ultrasonics, Ken Smith rock masters, Shadowsky Blue labels, D'Addario EXP 165 5? Thanks for your input.

I too, have a '98 Rogue 5. I've used DR exposed core and was pleased with the result. My Rogue's top is wenge... I don't know how much difference that would make.

Of course, your articulate mids, sweet top is almost certainly different than mine-- way too subjective.

That's how I would describe the D'Addario Chromes.  You're pointing out some roundwound strings there, but I generally don't think of them as having a sweet top, more growly in most cases.  Additionally, the good quality stainless flatwounds seem to change less over their lifespan.  There's less groove there to fill with dirt, oil and skin bits to deaden the string.  
 
Another string to try is the Alembic CX-3.  The outer wrap gives you a little less growl and click on the top end than most roundwounds.
 
In general, you'll want something medium to heavy to get that deep bottom you're looking for.  The heavier string will also tend to be more articulate in the mids with less floppiness from the higher tension.

have to agree with Bradley on that one!
The D'Addario chromes are superb, and NOT expensive, which ,for a Scotsman is VERY important.
I use the stainless D'Addarios on my Series 1, and my Curbow and 75 P bass, and they are the bizz.
I use the chrome flats on my Curbow fretless, and they are just what I've been looking for.

bsee, I've been thinking about some mediums too. Just talked with D'Addario and they have a set
#EXL 160SL in 50,70,85,105 And they suggested a 145  B string in super long. Will the .145 fit in the bridge saddle or would I have to get a taper wound to fit in it? 37 from nut to ball. Naturally the setup will have to be changed.
