They're just fantastic... I happened to meet Bridget Kearney (bassist) back when she was in Joy Kills Sorrow. At the time, she very much reminded me of Missy Raines, another one of my bass heroes. Speaking of bass-ladies, I stopped in the local music store on the way to a gig yesterday evening and ran into (of all people) Mary Huff, of Southern Culture on the Skids. Though I had met her years ago, we were introduced properly yesterday by my buddy Aaron, who runs the store. So all evening at a classic country gig, I had this quirky tune in my head...

Well... I can tell you, I
am figuring out what I like and don't care for. Obviously I don't have the broad lexicon yet, but I can't seem to get enough of what Phil Lesh was doing about that time. The nicest thing is, unlike a lot of other music I love to learn, there's actually an outlet for this, creating an
incentive!
