I just purchased a D10BX-D. It matched well with the ELF controller and Bag End 18's I have, although it is on the heavy side. Good luck in your pursuit.

It's been slow going. I've done a little recording for a local band where their bass players style doesn't fit. The last couple of folks I tried getting something going with had party problems. Too often folks wouldn't show up (or call) because they were hung over from the night before.

On a positive note, I have located a good reliable drummer and most likely a lead guitarist and vocalist. The drummer and guitarist played together for 3-4 years a few years back. The vocalist is currently gigging with the guitarist.I'm fairly positive this should let us get up and going quickly (the drummer has even rented a practice place).

I'm pretty happy with the rig. I'm still tweeking the tone settings but feel I could play out and have a satisfactory tone. I'm currently running the Navigator into the ELF, the ELF into the PLX 3002 and half the PLX driving the Bag End 18's and the other half driving the D10BX-D. As I've said if you ever get down this way your more than welcome to stop by for a visit.

Well enough of the hijacking.

So you're running a 2 ohm load with the 18's on one channel and a 4 ohm load with the 2x10 on the other?

My S18E-C's are 8 ohm cabinets so I am driving both sides at 4 ohms. The 3002 is rated 900W at 4 ohms which is about perfect for both 18's. The 2X10 I run with the 3002 volume at about half. This seems to give a good balance between the lows and highs (highs sounds strange for bass). I control the overall volume from the preamp. The ELF is set in the standard out of phase mode. The Bag End folks said I might notice a gap around the crossover frequency and if so just put the speakers in phase. I haven't noticed anything so I left everything as is. I do want to say the Bag End folks are great to work with. When I got my ELF it didn't have the wall wart. They sent me a new one for free. They have also spent phone time educating me on the ELF subsytem and usage even though it was used. I've also had good relations with Eden. I needed a new pot for the Navigator and they sent me a new one in a couple of days (for free). Again used equipment but that didn't mattter. Both are very similar to the experiences I have had and seen related to the folks at Alembic.

I also have a PLX 2402 that I got to drive my JBL K140's and generic 2X10 from the Navigator preamp crossover. I have played with it a little but the 2402 got temporarily sidelined to a practice PA. I've been thinking of buying another one for bass. The JBL's are still my favorite all around speakers but don't handle much power by today's standards.

Yes the standard S18E-C is an 8 ohm cabinet per the web site. If it was something different I would expect the connector plate label to say that. I know my 2X10 does.

I will say I have no concerns with running the QSC amplifiers at 2 ohms. This of course assumes the power is within the range of the speaker cabinets. I would rather run each channel at 2 ohms than run the amps bridged at 4. For some reason I have never had good feelings about bridging amplifiers.
