Series I Bridge
« on: February 25, 2008, 09:14:56 PM »
Hi everyone,
when trying to set up the string action on my '77 SeriesI I noticed that the height on those individual brass saddles of the D and A string is  a bit exaggerated (by factory). In result the pretty drastic curve of the saddles does not match the curve of the fretboard itself and playability adjustment cannot be optimized as I wished.I don't want to file down the saddles because I wish to keep the vintage integrity of the original parts. Is there anyone who has to offer spare single saddles(which I could modify for the desired curve) as a replacement - or even a complete bridge?
Thanks everyone,
J?rgen

You can order blank saddles from Alembic.

Actually you can file or have them filed down by an experienced repairman ,as you can see on mine I filed my own saddles & (saved a few bucks).

Thanks for the pic and encouraging me to do it myself. Like I said I prefer not to touch the original parts - just in case it turns out that it felt better the way it was before. That is why I would rather use and adjust new blank saddles for my improvement attempts...
Thanks again,
