Wow that is an ugly chair design - it has a cross between a starfish and a duck's webbed foot for a base. Yuck. Not my cup of tea at all.

I won't disagree with you Paul.  Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder.  To me, the most beautiful pieces are created when form matches function and the accents are subtle and tasteful.  Somehow, looking at that chair with all the pointy bits doesn't make me think comfort, though it is an interesting piece of art.
