I had the most wonderful experience talking to Mary and Mica several days ago pertaining to a used Alembic bass I am looking at, and have since bought. There was to be no profit in my phone call to Alembic, but I must tell you I was given the most friendly welcome, and my questions were answered with passion and proven accuracy.
-I spent zero time wading through endless menus. -Mary took my first call and thought that a chat with Mica was in order for my needs.
-Mary took my number and asked me to wait till Mica could call me back as it was still early on the west coast.
-Approx 35 minutes later I received a call from a bubbly, sweet, and knowledgeable gal named Mica, and all my questions were answered, along with some very important observations given. DOUBLE WOW!
- Well, all that being said, and this being the wanting and wishing section of this nice website, my wish for today is that this country needs, and would have more companies like Alembic!!! And have people like Mary and Mica, that represent Alembic, and make me proud to be an American (again).

I hear you.

A few months after I bought my Alembic (new) from GC the neck went all wonky and I flipped out. I called the Mothership and was put immediately through to Mica. She calmed me down, explained that the neck needed a heat reset and told me to send the bass back.

I did and within two weeks it was returned (1) in a better case than I sent the bass in, (2) with the tools that GC had lost, and (3) with a fresh set of strings installed.

As Mica told me, everyone who owns an Alembic is part of the family whether you bought it new or used.

Simply the best.

I agree,
Taken from a previous post I made ...
I can't say enough good things about Mica. She assisted in our (used bass) transaction as if I was buying a new bass directly from the Mother Ship. When I am able to purchase a new bass it will be from Alembic!!!

When i bought my first Alembic which was a SC Deluxe in 2002 I called Alembic and spoke to someone there. I presume it was Mica but I had good chat with her about the bass I was going to buy after telling her the serial number she told me the model of the bass and confirmed it was one of a series they made for the bass centre in London. When I bought my Dragon as a used guitar I had a good chat with Mary about it after i'd agreed a sale price and she had obviously heard through the grapevine that it was up for sale and was very positive about it, glad that I was getting it at what she considered a very good price which when she told me the current build price I was shocked.

When I've had questions about any of my instruments I've had positive responses, not always as quickly as I'd like via email but on the phone it's always been quick and good advice. I even got passed to Ron when I was trying to locate the noise problem on my guitar.

Great people and I'm glad to be considered one of the family.
Though I wonder if being part of the family means I can put a series bass on my christmas present list and send it to Alembic and have it delivered by Santa Claus?

This has been my experience for many years. My first conversation with Alembic was in 1992 or so. I called about an F2B question. I was told that Ron needed to talk to me. So, the next day I got a call from him which last about 90 minutes and covered all kinds of topics from preamp circuitry to negative feedback loops in McIntosh amps to early stereo FM transmitters. It was a very inspirational conversation and two years before I even owned an Alembic. The amount of customer service I got for the next 18 years was just great and it wasn't until last year that I got a new instrument. I suppose it could be considered excellent pre sale service, however I always liked to think of it as joining a family, where love and respect is unconditional, ie. no ownership requirements!
