Looking for a Short Scale Series I!
« on: November 14, 2011, 11:46:56 AM »
Hey guys... I've been away for a while due to many reasons, but now I need to get back in the game! I'm looking for a series shorty!
New, vintage, doesn't matter. Let me know if you have something that you wouldn't mind selling!
I'm planing on ordering one, but I want one while I wait for it...

So, any offers??

Greg

Greg; someone who used to post to the club a bit but hasn't been around much recently has put two Alembics up on Ebay, and one of them is a '76 Small body Series bass.  For a discussion about the listings, see this thread.

Bumping this up for me. I'm still on the lookout for a short scale 4 string Stanley Clarke Style Alembic bass. Dark woods preferred and the pickup selector switch in the modern position rather than on the lower horn area, good to excellent condition. Preferably from UK or mainland Europe unless it's a dirt cheap or free :-) USA located bass. I have an Elan 4 with Europa electronics that I would be prepared to trade if that helps things along.

Hi Clarky, I have looked at that bass a number of times and wondered whether to bite the bullet because although it's an old model it has been refurbished so looks in great condition. But like you, I'm not sure I want the hassle and added cost of import duty and vat into the UK. There is also another one at station-music Used bass section which has a carbon graphite neck to but for me, too many pounds for a bass that old.
