'84 Spoiler-Exploiter for sale ....
« on: June 01, 2004, 08:28:12 PM »
Folks,

Offering an '84 Spoiler-Exploiter for sale.  Specs are:

Zebrawood Top
Mahogany Core
Maple neck
Ebony Fingerboard
Zebrawood veneers
Schaller tuners (chrome)
Oval inlays
32 scale (medium)
SB-2 electronics (volume, Q switch, tone control, rotary pickup selector switch)
Brass bridge
Brass bird tailpiece
Bronze side neck fret markers
Adjustable brass nut

Serial numer is 84S3364.

Only one nick on it that I can find.  It is on the upper horn, the size of a pea, and barely noticeable.  Nothing else on headstock, body, etc.  I've never gigged with it, and I've owned it since November 2003.  Before that, it was used about a year, then put under a bed in the case.  I have the original paperwork that came with the bass.

Comes with case, which has oxidation on latches, but everything works (and I have the original keys for it as well).  Interior in mint condition.

Pics on request.  Buyer pays shipping (UPS ground is preferred).

Make offer.  Email me off of board.

Why am I selling it?  I bought a Spyder, and am playing it more than I am the Exploiter.  Not to mention my Europa!

Alan-

Sorry, I bought a bass last week, so I am off the market as a buyer for the moment.  Another thought might be to look at the result of Mike's eBay auction from a few weeks ago.  It didn't reach his reserve, but I think there were at least one or two bidders at a level that might interest you.

The bass is a beauty, good luck Alan!

Bob,

No problem, and I do appreciate the interest.

I've emailed Mike about his auction.  Awaiting his response.

My guess is if I can't get what I'd like for it, I'll just hang on to it and try to play it more often!

Regards,

Alan

Thanks - I've wanted one for a while and almost did my custom 5-string with the Exploiter body (until I saw Valentino's awesome variation on the Triple-O). This will be a back-up bass for me - I'll probably pull it out only for the 'reaction'. I'm such a sucker for basses with unusual body styles ;)
