Hey Bob,

I hear ya and I certainly do agree with you.  I remember when I first received my Alembic, I made the statement that I would no longer be playing any of my other basses.  Well, just like any other new toy...this was true for a while, but once I settled down a bit and the newness wore off...I began going back to my other basses as well, still enjoyng each one and their differences.

Hey Glocke,

How are things going w/ your sale?

BTW, Anybody know what happened with that Skylark hat was being auctioned by Steve's Music in Canada that I mentioned above? It disappeared off of Ebay, so I'm wondering if it was sold or if it was just yanked.

Good for you, Doug. Enjoy it. Steve's wanted a little too much for me. I too want a Custom Alembic guitar, but I saw an oportunity to get my feet wet before I made the deep dollar plunge. I figured it would tell me what features I liked, what I didn't and what I was lacking, all for a reasonable price. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

BTW, If you're anywhere near the Harley Dealer, you're neighbors with my buddy Scott, who I used to work with, and now ride with...him on his new H-D from Trenton World Class H-D. His wife didn't stand a chance...they have to pass the H-D dealer each day to and from their home...it was only a matter of time, LOL!

Thanks Kevin, I also though this would be a good way to check the alembic guitar side of life. the custom i have been dreaming up is around 10K,out of reach for now. i hope its as sweet as the basses.                                                                                              Your buddy Scott maybe my neighbor, a guy just a few doors from me got a new H-D. We here and see it all the time, but i don't know his name. We are the people that have the green house and raise orchids. could be a very small world.                                                                                               Let us know how you custom plans are going.

Doug,

Please let us all know how the thing sounds and plays...general impressions, quality, aesthetics, etc. I'm awaiting my first Custom Alembic: it's almost done, and it's a bass (see Ke(vi)n's Custom Orion in the Factory to Customer section of this site). A Custom Alembic guitar is probably the next order. I'm disappointed with Fender's and Gibson's Custom Shop offerings, and I already have two Fender Strats (both over twenty years old) and a new CS Les Paul Elegant already (along with two RI Guild acoustics, and a two Charvel/Jacksons, all old that I bought new), so I'm looking to step-up to the REAL deal, LOL!

BTW, I can't remember the name of the street or his house number, but it's that developement behind the dealer after you turn left off of Rte. I-130S right at the dealer (after the railroad tracks). He's on a dead end with a black H-D '04 Fat Boy, wife, and two twin boys (about 4 or 5 yrs. old).
