Hey peoples i'm looking to buy a four track recorder, anybody got one they want to part with as this is my first one, tascam, yamaha, fostex, any others you can think of,

Why not just go to Sam's Ass or Garbage Center. You can buy a new Tascam for $99 every day. They sound ok (it's a cassette after all), but are all cheap crap plastic and won't last forever. Beat it up and throw it away when it breaks. I use mine for my guitar lessons. I record my instructor playing the rhythymn/melody/comp lines, and I improvise over the top and record it to hear how badly I'm playing, LOL!
