Thanks for your message! No, it's not a 35'' but I also have a Lakland US 5-string with a 35'' scale and a Warwick 6-string Thumb-bass (pre 1990) with a 34'' scale. None for sale, though...
My point is that all those B-strings are about equal in quality. Of course the sound itself differs a lot between the basses but the B-string is clear and well defined on all basses.
I've found that the 35'' scale isn't a guarantee for good B-string. Some aren't that good and other's are great, same with 34'' scale basses. Could be that there are some higher percentage of good B-strings on 35'' scales, though. Sadowsky basses, for example, never uses 35'' scales on their basses and thoses basses are considered to be one of the greatest basses that are built today, along with Alembic and a few others of course...
The bass sounds great and I'm sure that you would be happy with the sound. But as always when buying unheard gear it is a bit of a gamble. That's were the name and reputation of Alembic comes in...
