Someone please buy this. ;-)

It's been in bassnw's website for months and months and months... And they have a sale on new Alembics thru the 21st.

Looks like Essence style electronics, an Elan headstock, and sort of a Fodera-ish body. Not your typical Alembic!

Is that a typical case of: Someone please buy this, because otherwise I will ?? Certainly a nice bass, highly original. Someone will definitely have a good companion there...

Wilfred, no, not necessarily, though I am curious how much this one might cost during their sale.

It's more like I want BassNW to sell a few new ones so they can bring in some interesting used ones!

I emailed them last Saturday for the price and the build history and I'm waiting for their response.  I'll post their reply to this thread.

I saw this bass being built when I was in Santa Rosa last time.   It was a prototype for another bass being built.   The buyer wanted a body type similar to a Spector with the curved back.  This one was built first to make sure it could be done before using the expensive piece of wood that the customer chose for the top.   Then it was sprayed with this solid color since it wasn't very fancy wood.   At least that is what I know about this bass.   If anyone else knows more or if I am wrong then please feel free to add to my comments.

essence - I saw it around the same time, and that's the story I heard. Don't recall whether the 'real' one was in progress at the time.

They've never bothered to reply to my email request for the price.  I guess that it's possible that they never got my email, but then again, the email wasn't returned to me.
