FOR SALE: Alembic 1974 Series #1 Fretless
« Reply #15 on: November 06, 2004, 01:25:44 AM »
The club site was extremely slow last night, so by the time I uploaded these pictures, I just went and crashed.  This is a really great bass, thumb support and all.  I would really like to see a picture of the front strap button 'arrangement.'  The bass looks very well cared for and I am sure someone will be very happy with it.  It seems all the major basses being sold in the last six months have been fretless.  $4,500 seems a reasonable price for this gem.  Lee, would you please post the serial number.  Thanks for the pictures.  This is a treat!

Looks like the 'front' strap button is not on a horn but where the neck meets the body (picture #4).

Hi all - To answer questions: Serial # is 74/124.
We're talking low low serial number... The strap button is not on the horn. You'll find it on the
back of the bass in the Heel area See Pic #4. The Button in on a small metal plate (The plate is
brass even though it looks kinda silver in that picture). Yes, that's original and looks consistant with all other metal work on the very cool bass. It's still for sale... Any takers? Step right up!
