It seems that I am too picky to do the straight up trade, and it looks like having cash to buy is better option, so I'm going to offer my bass for sale here.
MK Dlx 4str (built in Oct 2002)
Medium Scale
5A quilted maple front and back (from same slab)
Deluxe purpleheart neck laminate
Ebony Fingerboard w/ mother of pearl inlay
Continuous wood truss rod and back plates
Bookmatched headstock laminate
Anniv Electronics
Prep for Series II electronics (with 'dummy' dummy humcanceller)
Older 2R Truss rod cover (meaning neck pickup is closer to neck than current 'stock' position)
Satin neck
Recessed strap lock
and yes, tail piece in DEAD CENTER
You can see the pictures here (I'll post more recent pictures either tonight or tomorrow. But these pics are still good, since nothing has changed since then)
http://club.alembic.com/Images/411/2140.html?1117209090 Basically, I had it made to be clone of Mark King's medium scale quilted bass, minus the LED of course.
Also, I wanted to do all the woodwork up front (as much as I could afford). This bass is basically 'built' like Series bass, it even have the Series bass serial number (no MK or C b/w year and serial#).
Never been played outside, mint condition. No scratch, no mark.
Brass hardware has the usual discoloration, it can be polished out.
Have all the papers, wrench, strap locks, and also extra brass covers for all the wood covers. And of course, original Hard-shell from Alembic.
Hard-shell case has rip in one spot.
As an added bonus, largest piece of brass cover is autographed by Stanley Clarke himself.
(you can see him holding that plate)
Now, last time I was trying to sell, it was a major let down to having to deal with international buyer, so please, US buyers only, and funds only in US dollar.
I live in Nashville TN. I am willing to drive up to 5 hours to meet you or deliver it to you to save shipping cost and agony of taking chance with UPS/FedEx.
I will put up more 'current' pictures once I get home tonight, or tomorrow depends on what time I get home.
Selling for $4500.
