What does a used Alembic Road Case usually sell for?
They are $650+ new.

They don't.  Two reasons.  First, Alembics come in so many shapes and sizes that they typically stay with the bass for which they are built.  Second, I am not sure how long the foam is good for.  By the time someone is willing to sell, it may not be so protective.  If this is a 30 year old road case, it may need to be redone.

What's it worth?  Depends on condition and if you need it.  If you don't need it, it isn't worth the cost of shipping and storage.  If you do, it could easily be worth $400 or so.

Longhorncat- If you decide to get the bass, I have a 5-pin cable you can have. I bought a new one from Butch at Bayou Cables. I got a 15 ft. for $68.00 including 3 day shipping. They are great! You are welcome to the original cable.

Well, this bass is on it's way to Austin.
Full report and pictures when it arrives.
Thank you Ed.

Mike, thank you for offering the cord, but I see that you sold it with your bass on eBay.
I've need to order some wired up controls from Butch; I'll get a cable at the same time.
PS   Are you a Panther fan?

longhorncat- It depends on which Panthers show up- the aggressive Panthers or the passive Panthers. What am I saying! I love the Panther regardless. If you had posted about the cord 3 hours ago, you could have had it, but it's all boxed up now ready to go to Italy. Congrats on your new bass.

My father works for them.  That's the cat part of my forum name.
It's a nice perk to be able to get tickets to any NFL game any time you want.

I'm glad your eBay sale worked well.
I just sold a Rickenbacker 4001V63 to pay for this Series I.

That is probably the biggest understatement I have ever heard. What does your Dad do with the Panthers? Can he get Will Witherspoon back and dump Dan Morgan?

He's Mr. Richardson's finance manager.
He does get to work with some of the top players on their investments, but Marty is the hire/fire guy.
I thought they should have kept Spoon, then franchise Morgan and trade him to Miami for a 1st rounder.

Hey,  I've shipped two basses to Italy and had one shipped from there to me.
All three were damaged.
It took 8 months for the Italian post to pay the insurance claim.
Make sure the bass is wedged real tight in the case and the case doesn't move inside the box.

Something about Italy and organizing stuff - the two don't mix terribly well.

The last bass I sold -a musicman bongo- shipped to Italy and it was alot easier than shipping to Germany. It only took 5 days with USPS and everything worked out well. Of course every transaction is different, but I'm hoping for the best.
