Why don't you take a vacation to Portland, OR with you Alembic and sell it to me to help fund your trip?  (haha)

Damn customs fees...

Nice bass!  I hope to find a mint Series I/II in the States soon...

Actually there are no customs fees for returning a US made item back to the USA. There is a price difference however. US prices are generally lower than those in other countries.

Keith,

Can you provide more information on the customs fee issue?
I just bought this bass from Mark, so I'm very interested to hear about this!

Thanks,
Pat

Pat,
When reimporting an item made in the USA there are no duties that need to be paid. You should be sure declare that the bass was manufactured in the US in the paper work. If you search the site you will find other discussions on the subject.

Thanks Keith!

That's the best thing I've heard all day!
I'll be sure to do a search on this.

Thanks again,

Thanks Dave!
I'm really excited about this bass.  I had sold a bunch of basses, and had some money together for a custom.  As nice a bass as that would have been, I couldn't have afforded a Series II or the Series II electronics.  This one came up for about what the custom would have cost, so I contacted Mark...

I'll post an update when it arrives.  I'm extremely lucky in that I do have a Series II short scale.  It sounds and plays fantastic, and I have no complaints.  However, I was going to order a 34 scale bass, and that's what this Series II is.
