Nice bass.  I usually don't like the look of Zebra wood, but it works well in this case.

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't responded in a speedy fashion, i have been dealing with an elbow injury from work.  I am not to sure what to ask as a fair price for this bass. I'm thinking some where in the 2500.00 range.  Please, please, let me know if this price seems out of line. It really is a beauty, I inhereted this from my late brother-in-law, who was a fine player. butsince my injury, my playing days are over and must think ahead.  let me know lads. and again sorry for the late response.    Tim

Sorry to hear about your injury.  I just finished rehab for a torn bicep tendon.
 
The pictures look nice, what wear is there?  What shape are the frets in?  Are there any dents, dings, or electronics issues?
 
I'm not sure where you are located, but I am interested.  Would you be willing to possibly send the bass to Alembic to have it checked out?

Hi Paul, I will send alomg some close-ups of the few pressure dents. The fret work is in great shape, nil electronic issues. I had it serviced by our local luthier, who worked for F bass, here in ontario, and is a very well respected technician. He gave it a glowing report, and is infact interested in it. If you like, I could have my man here give it another going over and type up a letter verifying the quality of condition and playability etc. my tech's name is Wayne O'connor, he has a web site at Hank to Hendrix. If you end up buying this and you have any complaints at all, Paul, I would make things right by you, by what ever means you deem necessary. Hi Paul, here are some pics of the rogue. A few pressure dents in finish, and some belt buckle marks. all mars are confined to back and side. the front, neck and headstock are pristine. I would rate it overall as a solid 8.5 to 9  out of 10. God it is soo nice to play, bad elbow and all. I'm almost second guessing selling it??!!

There are no pictures here.  If you are second guessing the sale, keep the bass.  I do not want to consider it if you may want to keep it.  
 
I am also looking at a Rogue 5 and a Stanley so, I do have other options.

I would REALLY recommend keeping the bass, unless you need to sell it for financial reasons.
 
Two years ago, I was involved in an accident that was almost fatal. I ended up with two badly broken forearms and a smashed left wrist (among many other injuries). I was told that playing bass again was out of the question. For me that was NOT an acceptable answer.
 
Once I was finally out of the casts, I started physical therapy. I told my therapist that my #1 priority was playing bass again and that no matter what I had to do or how much it hurt, that's what I wanted. It wasn't fun and it hurt, but about 6 months later, I was once again playing bass in a limited basis. It was tough just seeing my basses sitting there and not being able to play them, but it gave me a LOT of motivation.
 
Everyone told me that it would be at least a year before I reached maximum recovery. If you haven't gone a year since your accident, I would strongly suggest that you don't sell anything until you're REALLY sure you won't be able to play them again.
 
I'll never be able to play 3 sets in one evening again, but I still get a lot of enjoyment out of the playing that I can do.

Thank-you soo much Loch, and to everyone else involed in this wonderful community, I don't need the money, like I said before, it is such a beautiful bass, I worried that it will sit in closet, instead of being used. But!!!? Then again, my injuries are fresh, and I start physio real soon, so mabey I should hang on, going for a bit of counciling as well. you all are a great bunch of lads and I appreciate every word of encouragement. I agree with the others, Tim. If you can afford to, keep the bass. There are so many Forum posts of people saying they regretted selling an Alembic. I think the only time there are NO regrets are when they sell it because another Alembic is already on the way or being built for them.  
 
Good luck in the recovery - be sure they listen to you about what you want, like Loch says.
