Jim:

Do you have a price on the Flying V (doesn't Moonstone call this a Flaming V?) guitar for denizens of this site?

Bill, tgo

I played several of the Moonstone electric basses at the '81 NAMM show in Chicago.  I suspect this bass is one of them.  They were all very, very nice instruments!  Hope the sale goes well and they both find good homes!

I have reasonable reserves, but I don't think I'm gonna end the auctions early. I love the increase in heartbeats at the end of an auction.

Yes they do call it the Flaming V, actually mine is a Tremelo V, but how many people look up Flaming V on ebay? Hope Gibson doesn't give me a hard time.

I think Steve makes a phenomenal instrument. From my understanding the vintage Moonstone Heavy Metal series of guitars, which included the Flaming V and Exploder, were built and designed with Ken Lawrence when he was at Moonstone. So you get the benefit of two incredible luthiers for the price of one!  I do hope they go to someone who appreciates them. You can get lost in that burl.

The Flaming V bass is still available.

1 hour before the auction closed the highest bidder sends me an email saying. I don't want it, I won't pay for it. If you persue I will give you negative feedback.

What a jerk, cost me $51. If anyone is interested it is really a wonderful instrument with a huge case!

I see your bass is back on eBay.

You don't have to eat the $51 charge.
Just file a Unpaid Item Dispute with eBay.
It doesn't require you to leave negative feedback, but the buyer will have to ok it.

Alright, I made a mistake in the listing saying the bass was 33.5 scale. It's actually a 32 scale, which I'm told would make it the only one ever made with this scale  length. The buyer has returned the bass and it is, once again, for sale. Anyone interested please let me know.
