2006 Alembic SCD
« on: August 16, 2009, 06:10:35 PM »
I bought it brand new about 3 yrs ago and need to sell it soon. I really hate to do this but my wife and I are splitting up and I need the extra cash. It is in like new condition. Please email me with any reasonable offers. I prefer a local sell(Austin, Texas)but could ship it if it comes down to it. Also I'm selling a 1992 Les Paul Classic if interested.

Can anyone tell me if that's a good price or am I asking to much? Thanks for any help I can get.

Carl; I think it would be helpful to post the build information that is on the card that came with the bass.  Also, more pictures would be helpful.  But, I don't think $4K for a 2006 SC Deluxe is unreasonable, based on transactions I've seen recently.  It just depends upon who's looking for what at any given point in time.

Ok someone help I'm confused. My receipt says SC Deluxe but my build card says SC Standard. This is the first time I've ever noticed this. I sure hope Bass Central didn't pull a fast one on me. My wife took our camera but I'll try and get more pics up ASAP. I've played this bass a bit but only at my home, it's never been played out.

From your single picture, it looks like a Deluxe not a Standard (coco bolo top, purpleheart neck lams). The receipt implies that the back is also coco bolo. Is that correct?

If so, I would call Mica to see if she could shed a little more light on the subject.

I took it out and cleaned it up and upon closer inspection I would like to add that the bridge and the nut is a little tarnished and that the logo on the neck PU has a little fade on the MBI part from playing. Also there is a small flaked area at the corner of the neck, treble side, by the serial number plate, not really sure how that got there. Other than that there is not a scratch on it. I'll try and get some detailed pics up soon. I think excellent condition is a better description than like new.

The serial number shows that it is a Deluxe.

This is a Signature Deluxe. I recognize the handwriting of the person that filled out your woodcard, this is not the only mistake they made of this nature. They don't work here anymore.

In fact, there are other errors on your woodcard, like the spelling of Clarke and the finish type is incorrect, and recorded on the veneers line. Oh boy!
