Hello, Stickk, welcome to the club. I have a Classical acoustic guitar with a large eagle inlay on the lower part of the guitar. I do not know if this is what  you are asking about. I will try to upload a pic.  Good luck.

I'll rummage around, I'm sure I have a least a snapshot or two.

Hi Stickk, and welcome.

Mica's probably your best bet since she's at the Mothership (the main office). She's probably rather busy so it may take some time.

The Birds of Prey Inlay is a series of just that - 10 birds of prey with details like flight feathers distinctly drawn.   I've got pictures of ones from the old days of film - I just can't find it for you just yet. What I was able to find on short notice are my mother's original drawings.

Note that not all of these silhouettes made it in the final collection.   It's been a while since we have been called to make this inlay. Once we're a little more caught up on the inlay work promised to customers, maybe I can convince my mom to do a Birds of Prey inlay for a guitar in our showroom.   It might take a very long time, but when I find a photo of the inlay, I will post it on the Club.

I can only imagine how that would look on a bass.... Impressive, at least.
Maybe someone should order a bass with this inlay, so we can all see how it looks. Any one?

Mica, you've made a custom Birds of Prey Essence and got pics of it. I've just printed a picture of it on Alembic's Site back in 1997. It was shown in Custom Gallery along the following text:

James is holding a special order Essence bass for a costumer in Texas. The was (sic) the first Birds of Prey inlay we made

I can send it to you, but my printer at the time had very low resolution. Unfortunatelly the image is very pixelated and in B&W only.
Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!

Uh...

(sic) in acient Latin means that I literally transcribed the text as it was writen.
Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!
