Tell U what AJ,

I have a few irons in the fire & a ton of gear that could use a different home SO I am going 2 get some things in motion & see if I can raise some cash. As U know I have a Dingwall im looking to unload SO if you know anybody that may b looking for somethin like that please send them my way & perhaps I should list the items im lookn 2 part with. I noticed ur a jazz bass fan, I have a 92 American standard; sea foam green with green ghost lines on it if interested. I am going 2 take inventory & list what I have here @ the club. Hope I can move fast enough on this!!!

Thanx,

Stephen

Stephen. Just for info, JPJ is playing a selection of custom built Manson basses and has been for a number of years. In fact, if you click on the link they have a gallery of instruments they've made for him including a 5 string fretless and a pair of 12 string basses.  They've also just announced they'll be producing a limited edition JPJ bass that's as near as they can get to John's stage instrument.

Graeme

p.s. good luck with the sale Alan.

Thanx for sharing that Graeme,
I was wondering who was behind those axes, especially that slide thingamobober, although the 1 in the TCV video looks a bit different. What an AWESOME TALENT & absolute pioneer JPJ is eh? I think the most underated bassist in history!!!

Bravo!!
Thanx Again!!!

Here I was thinking this was a thread about AJ selling his bass. Who knew it was the place to come for JPJ or to see Dingwalls pushed hard...

Bobl - it's all good.

Z - I'm not getting much traction over at Talkbass, so no worries.  Not really looking to trade for another bass as I have too many already!  Besides, my '73 Jazz and the Sadowsky are all I need I think.  Not playing with a group at the moment (I'm in musical hell, also known as Fayetteville, North Carolina), so the need for another bass isn't a priority.

Thanks,

Alan

Bob - it's all good.

Z - If I come across anyone wanting a Dingwall 6, I'll let them know you're looking to sell.  As for the J-Bass, I have two (my '73 and the Sadowsky) so I'm good, but thanks for the offer.

I've had some questions on the Wing, so I thought I'd answer them here....

Q:  How wide is the fingerboard at the nut?
A: 1 5/8

Q:  Is the case included?
A:  Yes, and it is in near perfect condition; all tools and documentation are included as well.

Q:  What is a heat bend?
A:  Mica could answer this better than I could, but as I understand it heat is applied to the neck and the neck is gently manipulated to obtain the desired result (relief).  Again, Mica could answer this much better than I just did.

Q:  Is the neck straight?
A:  It currently has .016 of relief at the 10th/11th frets, measured with a capo at the first fret and using feeler gauges.  If someone wanted it perfectly straight a simple truss rod adjustment would get one there.

Q:  Will it work with .45-.105 strings?
A:  I don't see any reason why it wouldn't.

Q:  Does the bass have low action?
A:  Right now, the action is 5/64 as measured on the E string at the 24th fret.  I don't see any reason it can't be adjusted higher or lower than that depending on individual tastes and playing techniques.

Q:  What scale?
A:  34.

Q:  Is the brass tarnished?
A:  No, but it could use polishing.

Q: What color LEDs?
A: Red.

Thanks for looking,

Alan
