Thinking of selling Bartolini series one pickups and harness
« on: October 13, 2011, 07:44:10 PM »
Hi there, I have a complete Series One Bartolini pickups and harness that came on an Alembic bass I bought a few years ago (pic incl.). I am now restoring the bass and am thinking of selling these parts. They worked well and sounded good on my bass but I am going back to original PUPs and wiring. This setup does not use the dummy pickup and has the amp module. Pots are Dimarzios. The pickups should drop right into series one holes but they are 3 screw mounted and not 4 like Alembic. No knobs included. They require some wiring knowledge to install too.  Anyone have any idea what I should charge? EBay might be the way to go too.  Thanks for your help. I know Flip loves these things and they do sound good but I want original for this historic old bass.  Thanks, Dave

Wow I've never seen those before! What are the controls and what do the switches do?

I bought a MKI set for an Ibanez years ago...seems they were about $250 new. The controls are Vol, Pan, Bass cut/ boost, Mid cut/boost, High cut/boost and the switch turns the preamp on/off. Quiet and versatile operation.

There are 2 micro switches that go by the knobs in the same spot as an Alembic series controls. I didn't really play the bass that much to get an idea what they do when I bought it. The pickups have 6 wires each coming off the back.

Perhaps that's a coil splitter?

I sure love this stuff (have a drawer full of it, various electronics/pickups that is)
Have you figured out the Alembic set and is it all working? I'd love to see your bass complete again.
