Hopefully For Sale
« on: January 22, 2006, 08:14:46 PM »
I am currently bidding on a 5-string Essence on E-bay and if I win it I will need to sell either one or two of my Alembics. One is a 1983 Spoiler and the pix are in the showcase here:
http://club.alembic.com/Images/411/23034.html?1133900984

The other is a 1981 Distillate and the pix are here: http://club.alembic.com/Images/411/23809.html?1136416185

Not sure about prices yet.I have to see if I win the auction and how much the Essence goes for.Thanks.
Mike

I don't know how much yet. It has a case, but not the original one. The electronics all work fine now. I had to re-solder alot of the connections because some had come loose and some were just barely connected and working off and on. Five of the oval inlays were gone and I got some mother of pearl from Stew-Mac and recut them. The action was set very high so I set that and oiled the fingerboard and polished ALOT of brass and cleaned and polished the frets and just general bass cleaning.

I am definitely interested in the Spoiler.  I am not too far from you, around Macon, GA.  Let me know what you want for it.

I failed to notice the ...if you win... part.
Just getting a little antsy. Sorry.

Good luck with the bidding!

Never mind. Someone bid in $50 and $100 increments until my top bid was exposed, so I e-mailed the seller and pulled my bid. Oh well. Next time I will use flaxattack's suggestion and use e-sniper or just buy within this club.

My mistake. Kungfusheriff suggested www.esnipe.com
Flaxattack suggested auctionsniper.com

Wayne- I'll know by Monday. I may still try to make a bid on the Essence on e-bay. If that doesn't work out I might try to trade it for a 5-string Epic or other Alembic. Thanks.

Are you still interested in selling the Spoiler?  (and at what price?) I think a med scale Alembic would suit me best.
Thanks,
Wayne

Wayne- I'm probably going to keep it unless I find something I REALLY want bad. I love this bass. I think there is another member selling a Persuader.
