I am thinking of selling my 1988 Modulus Blackknife guitar.
This guitar is not one of the early models that had just the Modulus neck and then whatever body someone cared to put on it. It is a full-on Modulus custom ordered guitar.
Here is a link to my post here that has photos:
http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=17445.msg176075#msg176075 It is in excellent cond. (I would say close to mint). I bought it from the original owner, who had it custom made. It has EMG active pickups, and though they are close together, they get a wide range of sound. It is a bolt on neck. It has the original hard shell case and trem arm. The only change from stock is the trem-stop I put on it in the trem cavity, which keeps it in tune if you should break a string (easily removed). The only thing I see that might be considered a 'flaw' on the guitar is that the top wood used features two knots, and you can just see where they used filler (much like Alembic does on burl wood) to fill in the voids. It has a licensed Floyd Rose trem. The guitar sounds fantastic, like a Strat on steroids, very gutsy. The rhythm sounds are rich and full of beautiful overtones. The neck is perfect and the frets are like new. The neck inlay dots look like abalone.
There is one on EBay right now that is a year newer with a Tele style body with a starting bid of 6K, but I think that is a lot of wishful thinking.

I am just not playing it these days. Any additional pictures you want of it, I would be glad to take.
Bye,
Dave
