Okay, I told myself that when I acquired my 1st Alembic, one of my other girls would go. Meet Mama San---a gorgeous MIJ Jazz, totally stock, and it's everything a Jazz is/should be. Sometimes referred to as The Hamburgler Bass, due to the legendary image on the neck. As a point of interest, google 'the legend of the fender hamburgler'...or something similar. Interesting and fun story. Anyway, about ten years ago, I walked into the local Music Go Round and saw it, played it, liked it, bought it. Impulse buy? You bet! I've never gigged it, or played it out. There are more pics but are too large to send via here. So, all of those who are genuinely interested, please email me and I will send you more detailed and high-res. images. There is a very small "dent" in the back's middle, a few very small "can't-see-'em-unless-looking-closely scuffs on the side (lower bout and by the right side strap button) and, at the 6th fret position on the maple, a slight indentation (pencil tip width, 3/8" long) which I can't even accurately photograph, let alone feel when I play. The rosewood has a very nice grain, which can be seen on my other pics. Tuners are nice and smooth, perfectly cut nut (although a matter of taste, I realize), and the neck pocket is dead tight. It was purchased w/o a case, etc., but a gig bag is included which is of lesser quality, but is good for home use. Aside from simply having too many instruments, I am looking at elective surgery (the kind that isn't covered by my ins), so the sale will help to fund that. Bottom line---$700.00, plus S&H + Insured. Thanks much...... J Michael.
