Yard Sale #003
« on: July 22, 2014, 05:19:32 AM »
It is time to sell off a bunch of stuff again.  Last yard sale I did I sold $22,890 through the club, eBay, and a few local pick-ups from local bands, if you consider driving from Caribou, Main to Boston, local.  I really miss the stuff I sold, and I will miss the items that go this time, too.  This will be a slow, on-going endeavor as I am such a wimp these daze.  I am in no real rush to sell anything, and things will pop up as I dig them out of my closets and garage, and probably some stuff I have stationed around at friends houses so when I would go there to mess around, I would not have to truck stuff with me.  So I will start out with a couple of things I took a few pictures of, and just add stuff over the next few months, or years, as I run across them.  I will post unimpressive pix, and better ones can be gotten by asking for the originals, or even telling me what kind of shots you want, and size limitations of your e-mail account.  Remember, I am sick (Always these daze), so please cut slack on getting things asked for.  If I were not sick, I would not dream of parting with hardly any of this stuff.  So . . . .

Since I like selling to Alembic Club members and hate e-Bay, the black market of the world these days, I will check out e-Bay prices and give a healthy discount from what those jerks are offering stuff for on there.  My word is better than any policies ever offered on e-Bay, so fairness is number one with me, and shipping will always be for exact amounts, and I will eat the packing materials, which will be 1 foam (Unless better is needed) with a new cardboard outer-skin, duct-taped over it, all cut on my table saw.

I'll start with a great five-string bass, a Black Beauty, and a neat-o Twin and extension cab with 12 Gauss speakers in all.  Things will run from vintage Yamaha and BGW work-horse amps, to Altec big throat horns and drivers, crossovers, a mixboard no doubt, and all kinds of various amp, preamps, processors, whatever . . .  Please have patience on me getting all pieces of the item posted.

2008 Gibson Custom Shop Ebony Black Beauty.  I bought this guitar from a guy that used to lease instruments to recording studios.  It never left his warehouse and was sold on e-Bay along with about 15 other various other LP's and SG's at the time.  This guitar is virtually unplayed (I never use a pick).  It may have a total playing time of maybe 20 to 30 minutes on it, and not a scratch on it from that, of course.  I bought it to learn to play guitar, but my fat fingers are a joke on it.  I got it about four or five years ago, before I moved back to California in October of 2010.  I got too sick after moving back, so never played it at all.  I think there is one like it on e-Bay right now for $3,299.xx, but it is not in prime shape and someone sweated all over the gold BADLY, so it is all pocked marked up.  Bummer!  This guitar is as if it just came out of the box from Gibson, but it has yellowed some from age on the binding, of course.  Makes it look much cooler!  So consider it NOS.  I think I have the box it came in in the attic of my garage, but I will make no promises on that.  All case candy is included, with original tag on the handle in a mint case.  It is the real deal, and no, it does not have the fake ebony fretboard or the likes of the new ones Gibson is now selling these days.

Note that any marks on the guitar are from dust or the flash.  As I stated, just as if it just came out of the box from the factory.

The black cloth under the headstock in the case is a Gibson Black Beauty T-Shirt in size large to XXXL - I should have polished the guitar, but I did polish it with car wax last year and lemon-oiled the fretboard.

Fender Twin Reverb amp loaded with orange basket 'Fender' Gauss 12's (Very rare and collectable - I'm a vintage speaker freak).  I bought this from a shop new on-line about two years ago.  Original speakers and wiring will be included.  Also a close matching extension speaker cab with white basket Gauss 12's and oxygen free cable.  Has a combined load of 3 ohms, but kicks major ass, even in 1/4th power mode, which the amp has a switch for.  It is a cool head on this, as it has sends and line-out, if I remember right.  Buyer should know what he/she is buying, so should know more about the amp than I do.  Bass players . . .  You can get a manual on-line and it is the current model Fender is selling for Twins.  Since Gauss speakers have 4.25 inch voice coils and are highly efficient, they should never come close to blowing using two or four of them, amp on 10, but should really make one's ears bleed.  No thanks.

So many angles of this, to show it is nice all over.  Never taken to a gig, just sat in my friend Eddie's music room since I got it.  Eddie mainly uses a old 60's Twin I made solid oak cabinets for back in 1980 with original JBLs in it - Really a sight to be seen (Someone dropped it off a truck, so I got it cheap and wood was affordable back then).  It has realistically, maybe 15 hours of play`test time on it.  It also has a nice cover with embroidered logo from Fender, and plug-in casters for rolling around.
