There?s a time for everything, and it is time for my first Alembic to find a new home.  I haven?t played it out in over a decade (since receiving my first Series bass).

I?m not a pro player ? it?s just a SERIOUS hobby ? so it?s never seen a club or hostile environment.  Just the house, the church, and the random private party.

It is the most stable neck of all my Alembics.  It has stupid low action with no buzzing.  And with the close spacing, it a very fast finger style bass. It?s the Maple-Purpleheart blend and sounds just like you would expect.

It was ordered ?custom? as it is one of the very few (maybe only) 5-string 20th Anniversary bass.  In fact, when I called Mica a couple of years ago to get a replacement cost letter I asked how many were made.  Her reply: ?Wayne, if it wasn?t? you asking, I?d say zero.?

I?ve made 3 modifications from stock: 1) added a strap point beneath the Omega (a-la JimmyJ), 2) replaced the nut with a scalloped fixed height, 3) replaced the bridge adjustment screws with the stainless kit from Mica.

Width @ Nut  - 1.75?
Width @ 24th   - 2.59?
Spacing @ bridge  -  17/32? (13.5mm)
Overall Length - 48.5?
Widest Point  - 15?

I?m asking $5,300.  I?ll cover the shipping to the lower 48 in the G&G hard case.  If you?d like a road case, I?ll work with Mica to have one built and split the cost with you.  (And I?ll get brother Olie to help me pack it since he has successfully shipped several from Texas to parts beyond.)  I?m not completely against international, but that?s a different shipping cost structure that we?d have to discuss.

My email is in my profile.  If you?d like additional photos, let me know.

I've seen and heard this one in living color; it's gorgeous and ridiculously easy to play.

Wayne, good luck with the sale.

Oh Wow! This is the most I've been tempted since first logging in here. I would be in full-on crisis mode if this beauty were fretless & 32 scale.

Must resist... Custom Order pending... stay focused... slap-slap!!

Thanks.  It is and has been great.  It was my introduction to The Tone.

I don't have access to a scale at the moment, but I would estimate the weight at about 12 pounds.  It is not much lighter than my Series basses.  It's solid.
