i thought everyone needs to hear this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jY8wyKuLY2k&feature=fvw

i know he's playing an Ibanez, but looks like something Alembic would build, and just sounds incredible to me

Hmm, I appreciate he has great technique on guitar but I'm afraid that piece did nothing for me at all. I've never heard a solo rock guitar piece that had anywhere near as much interest as solo Jazz guitar piece. That said, it's horses for courses and I'm always open to persuasion.

Just some trivia for y'all, his guitars are strung with .007 sets and have sustainer pickups. So his finesse control over notes requires tremendous discipline.

Any friend of Vai, is a friend for me too.

Steve, and (2) other guys -- Joe, and Eric are the Rat Pack of Rock Guitar.

I heard them do Jimi's Red House and was floored for ventilation.

What a tribute, and with so much class and grace. Man, they built a love bridge for me to cross over, after they did Jimi's tune...

Now, those guys (far as I am concern) could never do, no wrong with me...

Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson.

Hal, i love Joe, Steve, and Eric, i want to go to one of the G3 shows that all of them are at.

i was wondering about the sustain on the fretless neck, the pickups make it more understandable
