For Sale: Used Heavy Duty STAR Flight Case [SOLD]
« on: August 26, 2015, 06:16:32 PM »
This is a very heavy duty, and heavy weighing "Anvil-style" ATA flight case in great, fully functional condition, with interior configured for Alembic Short Scale, Small Standard bodied bass, or similar. I purchased this case used several years ago from a guy who'd provided me incorrect measurements; it does not fit my bass (interior of case is too short for my Essence) See detailed drawing of interior measurements & cutout below, and several photos of the case. Asking $225 obo. Local p/u or can deliver in SF Bay Area preferred, or buyer pays ship cost in CONUS. This case (orig. $500+) provides maximum protection for your precious baby... whether traveling via road, rail or air, or for safest STORAGE in seismically active areas!

David,
It was nice to meet you for the transaction of the case and the Gathering   as well .

 Hello Todd, I hope all is well with you as well . I think Edwin may still have a case available that might fit one of your instruments .

Thanks Wolf, you're the best.  Hope all is well. Have abandoned Fenders and am loving playing my 73 and 2008 small bodied short scale Alembics with my F-1X.  Now if I could just live to play another 50 or more years, I'd be thrilled!  55 is the new 40, right?  Time for a NY area Alembic Club meet!

Todd , next March I will be 60 and therefore I have decided that 60 can be the new 30. Given curtain various variables ,it can be within perception ! I know of a man in Sweden that was still cross country skiing in his 80's

Best Wishes,

Wolf:

I can easily relate to the age thing.  We've got a guy out here in Minneapolis named Roy who is an avid cross country ski racer. Roy is 92 years old this year and when I saw him last week was still complaining (he has complained for 3-years now) about the fact that the American Birkiebeiner Ski Race (29km or 52km in length which has 7,000-8,000 entrants) doesn't have a separate age-group category for those who are over 90.  Roy often skis the race faster than 40 year olds.

Brian ,
           This is so wonderful and inspiring . Thanks for posting this .
I was friends with the famous runner Walter Stack, who also did not let his advancing age stop him from competing in marathons in his 70's and 80's  and being old enough to be my dad he made an impression on me at the time on ones perception of age . He taught me to ;
 Just do it  if it was in my heart !   One of my Cyclist friends who is 2 years older then me  is planing on going back into training for some bicycle races next year. We both love old Italian made Bianchi's  decked out with all Campagnolo parts !

Here are links about Walter Stack !
