I'm undertaking some deep cleaning projects around here, and strange things are liable to turn up! Instead of them just occupying dusty corners and never-looked-in boxes on shelves, these things should get out in the world and do something. I'll be offering these tidbits here first.
My first little find is a lonely AXY4 pickup. This is no doubt from the 1980s, when we made quite a few of these free-form cast pickups. Originally the main color was cream, but it's more of a tan now, with black and red splatter.
Usually these are $225 each, but this guy is available for $150 as a solo act. Because of the age, we won't be able to make a perfect color match for it. You will need a preamp to make it work, unless you are just dressing up your 1-pickup Distillate or some guts you already have on hand. Otherwise I'll give you a good price on the rest of a system if you are starting from scratch.
