Why wouldn't it be?  Looks real to me.

I'm not sure what you're asking.  If you are asking if it's a real Epic, then yes, I don't see any reason to think that it's not.  If you are asking if it's a legitimate listing; the listing does not appear to have any of the usual warning signs except for one.  In the payment section, the seller says if using Paypal the winning bidder will need to email me for the correct Paypal address for payment to be sent to.  However, when I went and looked at the seller's completed listings, the same language was used and the buyers all listed positive feedback.  It certainly looks legitimate.

I suspect he as two accounts with Paypal.  A free one for small stuff and a business account to handle  purchases above the free limit.

I do wonder why it has a BIN of $700.  Anyone who watches these e-bay listings would know that they usually go for more than that.  Why not let the auction happen and maybe get closer to a grand?

Rich; I haven't been following Epic prices.  My guess would be the substantial pick wear and no hard case.

Dave, you are very right.  This one isn't in as good a condition as most you see for sale.

If you want a 4 string Epic this is in ideal condition for a buyer.

It has enough cosmetic wear to chase away the like new & mint condition zealots and the elevated price which accompanies those instruments; but is otherwise still a real-deal (pun intended) instrument which will last for and can be played for years.

If this were a baritone guitar instead of a bass I would considder bidding on it.
