The fact that it is on craigslist doesnt help either....

yeah, definitely could be fishy.
I don't know him, so I'm not gonna defend him.
just thought it was interesting so I posted.

His email address does point to a real website.
www.24hourtom.com not some annoynmous address.
Not that that means much, but for some reason I get somewhat of a warmer feeling about it.

He said, he was in contact w/ Alembic... Maybe Mica or one of the other magic elves remembers discussing this one?

and for the record, I've had great luck on CraigsList. (albeit only w/ local deals)
