Alembic for Facebook
« on: November 13, 2009, 12:07:47 PM »
I am not sure how many or if any members here also use Facebook, but I thought it would be cool if we could setup an Alembic Fan page!

It also might help spread the word all the more about Alembic basses and guitars.

Any input/thoughts? Or, if you think this is stupid..say the word.

Not a bad idea, but it has come up before, with generally poor reception.  I believe Mica has stated they are busy enough just maintaining this site, without adding anything additional to the mix.

Edit: I guess I should read closer before posting, since you clearly aren't suggesting that Alembic should run the site.

correct. this would be forum member driven on Alembic's behalf, but of course with their express consent.

the idea came to mind bcs there is a Carl Thompson Basses page. The CT website has a forum as well, although not nearly as in depth and deep as Alembic. It would be nice to bring a little competition to facebook.

I'm a member of that group as well. Have been for some time now.  I rarely check it as it doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic.  Though it's fun to go look at new pictures when they are actually submitted.
