Europa Electronics with a 5 pin or is that an XLR jack?
kind of a strange electronics setup.... Defintiely custom ordered.

The 5-pin would be useful if your other bass was a Series bass; thus you would only need one cable cluttering the stage and rig. It may also be powering the LEDs.

Ahhh I see what you mean, Is it just me or do those controls looks awfully tight by the jack and the bridge.... Maybe the 5 pin or whatever it is was added after...could this be?

Yes, it does look tight. You might be right; perhaps the 1/4 jack was originally where the 5-pin is now, and when the 5-pin was added, the 1/4 was moved next to the pan. If the 5-pin is being used, then the 1/4 isn't really in the way. However, I'm thinking it may also have been ordered this way. You wouldn't be able to side mount the 1/4 since the 5-pin would be in the way; and there's not much room to do anything else.

So whoever orderd it just added the 5 pin to power the LEDs and the bass itself (in place of a bunch batteries) and moved the 1/4 inch jack to the most convienient location.
Wouldint they have to use both jacks at the same time since the bass is not a Series instrument the 5 pin wont take the place of the 1/4 inch by delivering sound?, The 5 pin is just to take the place of using 5 batteries to power the Preamp and the LEDs.

My guess is that the 5-pin has been wired to send the Europa electronics mono signal to the bass/mono input side of the DS5. And as long as it's powering the batteries, the 5-pin has probably also been modified to provide 9 volt power to the electronics. But I'm just guessing; but it does seem probable that the 1/4 is not needed if you're using the 5-pin.
